The Masters Trowel, September 2011

Greetings Brethren,

I hope this addition of the Saco Masonic Lodge No. 9 Trestleboard finds you and yours well, and that each of you has had a fruitful summer filled with fun and relaxation.  It seems like yesterday that we voted to go into darkness for the summer for some much-deserved refreshment.  How swiftly the sands flow through the hourglass, and now it's time to return to the Light.  Yes, we did go dark and we enjoyed some refreshment, but intermixed was unity and some degree work.  Saco Lodge hosted a fine parade in conjunction with the Kora Shriners Summer Ceremonial, and, according to John Knox, current Potentate of Kora, the parade had over two hundred participants and well over five hundred spectators.  We also had a delicious breakfast organized by our resident Chef, Steve Wayne; one hundred eighty one attended and enjoyed the food and fellowship.
We did degree work at the end of June, we had a wonderful Cornerstone Ceremony attended by approximately a hundred Masons and guests, which was followed by a reception at Run of the Mill.  We were fortunate to have great entertainment provided by Bros. Jeff Pellerin and Erin St. John, who were accompanied by my good friend Al Lefebvre.
On August 11th, we had a Fellowcraft degree, and passed four proficient brethren.  Thanks go to Brothers Maxwell, Butt and Milliken for educating these Brothers, ensuring them that they will receive further Light in Masonry.
September will be a busy month as we continue to labor and work to make good men better.  Yes, my Brethren, much has been done, our work is never-ending, and I am honored to be a member and the Master of the greatest Lodge in Masonry.
I look forward to seeing you in Lodge on September 7th.  Until then, be safe and enjoy the final days of summer.

Fraternally Yours,

Wor. Steven Boucavalas
